Privacy Policy

QuoteThru is operated by Hristo Lilkin, an individual based in Bulgaria, currently operating as a sole trader.

We handle personal data in two different roles.

• Mover accounts. For the people who sign up to use QuoteThru(account email, company name, language, sign-in data, support emails), we are the controller.
• Survey data. For what is entered in a survey (the customer name the mover typed in, addresses and places, move date, access details, answers, photos and item lists), the moving company is the controller. We are the processor: we handle this data on the mover's behalf, under the data processing terms in our Terms of Service.

If you are a customer of a moving company, contact that company first to use your rights. We will help the mover to respond.

Mover account data. Your email, company name, language and sign-in details, plus messages you send to support. We use them to run your account and give you the service. Legal basis: contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Survey data. The customer name, addresses and places, move date, access details (such as floor, lift and parking), answers, photos and item lists. We use them to let the customer complete the survey and to give the mover the inventory and volume. The mover decides why the data is collected and on which legal basis.

Technical data. Basic logs and error reports (such as IP address, browser and the page that failed). We use them to keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix errors. Legal basis: our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for advertising.

Photos are sent to Google's Gemini API to recognise furniture and estimate sizes. The result is a suggestion. The customer and the mover can edit it.

No decision with legal effect is made automatically. A person always decides what goes into a quote. Under Google's paid API terms, content sent through the API is not used to train Google's models.

Customers: please do not photograph people, documents or other sensitive things. Photograph rooms and items only.

We use these providers (subprocessors) to run QuoteThru.

• Vercel Inc. Hosting and photo file storage. App servers in Frankfurt, EU.
• Neon. Database. AWS Frankfurt, EU.
• Clerk Inc. Mover sign-in. USA.
• Google LLC (Gemini API). Photo analysis. USA and global.
• Resend. Email delivery. EU (Ireland region).
• Sentry. Error monitoring. EU (Germany region).

When data goes outside the EEA, we rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.

• Survey data is kept until the mover deletes the survey or their account. Both are possible in the app. The data is then deleted from our live systems straight away, and from backups within 30 days.
• Mover account data is kept while the account exists.
• Error logs are kept for about 90 days.

We only use strictly necessary cookies:

• sign-in session cookies, set by Clerk on the mover pages;
• a language preference cookie (qt_locale).

We use no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner.

• All traffic uses HTTPS.
• Photos are stored privately and are only served through links that check access.
• Survey links are unguessable. Still, anyone who has a link can see and edit an open survey, so share it only with the customer.

You can ask for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction, a portable copy, or object to how it is used. Write to hristo@quotethruapp.com. If your data is survey data, we may pass your request to the moving company, who is responsible for it.

You can also complain to a supervisory authority: the Commission for Personal Data Protection (Bulgaria), or the authority where you live or work.

QuoteThru is not meant for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

We will post updates on this page. If a change is material, we will also email movers with an account.
